Tampa Bay area foreclosure defense attorneys hold free seminar on Saturday

A few more gigs like this one and Tampa Bay lawyers Mark Stopa and Matt Weidner could star in a buddy cop movie or maybe a Blues Brothers flick. The two attorneys who specialize in keeping homeowners from foreclosure (as long as possible) are teaming up this Saturday, Nov. 20, for a free foreclosure seminar for Florida homeowners.

This is no intimate gathering. Stopa and Weidner have taken Ballroom A at the downtown Tampa Convention Center (directions here). The ballroom can accommodate 700 just in case word spreads among the thousands of Floridians whose homes are vulnerable to foreclosure. Stopa says banks often cause misinformation about foreclosures and actively mislead homeowners. "Many homeowners think they can trust the banks, and they don’t retain counsel, so they don’t realize what’s actually going on until it’s too late," he says.

Adds Weidner: "The American people have become too passive in the foreclosure crisis."

The defense lawyers will speak about such foreclosure-related topics as loan modifications, strategic default, short sales, bankruptcy and other "hot button" foreclosure issues.

The seminar begins at 11 a.m and will proceed until late afternoon. More information can be found on Stopa's web site or on Weidner's web and blog site.
