Roundup

THE 360 SHORTAGE PINPOINTED?: Microsoft is e-mailing that it's on track to ship 4.5 million to 5.5 million Xbox 360s by June, even though the console is as scarce as ever. Dean Takahashi of the Mercury News says the shortage is due to a less-than-on-the-ball chip maker. (Hat tip: Kotaku.)

THE FPS ARMY: The Washington Post has a good article up about how the military is increasingly using simulations (i.e. video games) to train soldiers. To those who think this has any bearing on the video game-violence link, suffice it to say that kids playing SOCOM and other such games aren't then being given uniforms, real weapons and training/instructions to actually shoot things.

A DISRUPTIVE REVOLUTION?: Mr. Reggie Fils-Aime continues his Revolution patter with a column for Brandweek. He says the Revolution will be a disruptive technology, thereby changing the industry's future. Reggie sure talks big, but it's working.
