It's been a while since I humped Guitar Hero's leg...

So: Guitar Hero II is official! It comes out in November, and IGN has the details.

The coolest thing about the sequel (other than that we're undoubtedly going to see songs from some big bands that weren't in the first game) is two people can play together and play different parts: one would play lead guitar and the other would handle rhythm guitar or bass. In the original guitar hero the only two-player mode had you playing the same parts.

They don't give away any songs, but I bet Weezer's Dope Nose is one. The developers have said that Weezer was supposed to make the original cut but the band didn't get it so they couldn't use their songs. And the game's executive producer describes the original prototype as the "Dope Nose demo." Other than that, it's up for grabs.

What songs do you want to see included? Here's my updated dream list:

Welcome to the Jungle - Guns N Roses
Living on a Prayer - Bon Jovi
My Name Is Jonas - Weezer
I Believe in a Thing Called Love - The Darkness
Love in an Elevator - Aerosmith
Hole Hearted - Extreme
Stacey's Mom - Fountains of Wayne
Waiting Room - Fugazi
Tie Your Mother Down - Queen
Corduroy - Pearl Jam
Just - Radiohead
Just What I Needed - The Cars
Spiderwebs - No Doubt
21st Century Digital Boy - Bad Religion
By the Way - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Ruby Soho - Rancid
Everlong - Foo Fighters
Interstate Love Song - Stone Temple Pilots
We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister
Phantom of the Opera - Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
Flagpole Sitta - Harvey Danger
Cinnamon Girl - Neil Young
And the final song, of course, should be Stairway.

Nice song selection. Me First is definitely my fav there. Hell, I'd be happy with a complete "Me First" Guitar Hero Edition ;).
