Odds and Ends

* This is how you bring video games to the masses. Brilliant. (Hat tip: Kotaku.)

* Here's one last E3 roundup, from Rocky Mountain News' Brian Crecente.

* Microsoft is updating the Xbox 360 Dashboard soon. The biggest change is you'll be able to download demos/trailers/etc. while you're playing a game. Right now if you start a download and do anything else, the download stops.

* We pretty much already knew this, but Nintendo has announced the Wii will cost less than $250. I'm with 1up and Kohler in thinking $199 is more likely than $200. Nintendo has emphasized that the graphics and multimedia capabilities will be far shabbier than those of the Xbox 360 and PS3, so it's hard to see them pricing Wii only $50 less than a 360. If they really want to reach nongamers, they should sell it for $150. Then it really becomes an impulse tech purchase.

* There's a pretty plausible rumor -- plausible because Nintendo has registered wiikaraoke.com -- that the Wii remote might include a microphone as well as a speaker. Karaoke out of the box with not extra mic accessory? Sounds good to me.
