ST. PETERSBURG — The former home of Al Lang, an early St. Petersburg mayor who brought baseball spring training to the city, has sold for $382,500.
The three-bedroom house originally was listed for $395,000 but went under contract soon after the price dropped to $385,000 in May.

Lang lived in the house just off Fourth Avenue N near Eighth Street N while serving as mayor from 1916 to 1920. The new owners "are a great young couple who I feel will keep it true to its historic background,'' said Cheryl Greenwood, the listing agent.
