Tampa Bay ranked 11th in U-Haul's annual look at who's moving where around the United States. The metro area saw a 6 percent increase in U-Haul trucks rented to move here in 2018, according to a report from the Phoenix-based company released Monday.

Tampa Bay placed between No. 10 Charlotte, N.C., and No. 12 Columbus, Ohio. U-Haul will count down the top nine cities over the next nine days, with No. 1 coming out May 24.

The company did not reveal how many U-Haul trucks were rented for moves to the Tampa Bay area, which came in at No. 11 among do-it-yourself movers in 2017, too.

In January, U-Haul released a report that showed Florida was No. 2 for growth. That is, it had a lot more people renting U-Haul vehicles to move into the state than to move out. Only Texas ranked higher. Illinois ranked last on the list.
