Times Facts
Dawn joined the Times in 2003 and quickly ascended to the position of senior account executive. In 2006, Dawn was named Tampa Advertising Manager where she has responsibility for managing the sales and support teams in Hillsborough and central and east Pasco counties. In 2010 Dawn joined the senior advertising leadership team where she leads the development and implementation of sales strategies in this important growth market.
Dawn played a critical role in the successful launch of tbt* as a free weekly and in the strategic planning process that led to the innovative re-launch of tbt* as a daily publication and currently serves as the products Advertising Director.

Community
Dawn is a member of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Women of Influence and the Small Business of the Year committees. She is a board member for the Tampa Metropolitan YMCA.  Dawn also serves on the Marketing Advisory Committee for Metropolitan Ministries and volunteers at the Sam Rampello Tampa’s Downtown Partnership Magnet School.

Accolades
Dawn was recently named a 2012 Newspaper Association of America (NAA) Fellow.  This recognition afforded her the opportunity to participate in the NAA Media Xchange in Washington DC in April 2012 as a Digital Media Fellow.
Dawn was also named one of Editor & Publisher Magazine’s Top 25 Under 35 for 2012.  This annual award is given to rising young newspaper professionals across the country.

Dawn is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a bachelor of arts degree in communications.

Personal
Dawn is married to Chris Philips, Producer at The City of Tampa Television and has two daughters Avery and Peyton.
