Advertising: Primary responsibilities include developing relationships with local businesses, selling and educating them on the entire suite of advertising products offered by the Tampa Bay Times and tampabay.com. Using the telephone as the primary means of communication, the sales representative will call inactive accounts, new businesses, appropriate categories of business, or existing small business accounts. The rep will work to develop sales via targeted campaigns for specific areas of business or for seasonal products and special sections. Leads will be forwarded to retail or category specific Account Executives for follow up and closure. Cold calling and customer service are the key components of this position.
● Maintain a strong working knowledge of the competition within the market
through research of competitive products, self-education and training sessions.
● Make cold calls, resulting in additional ad volume in multiple products and audience solutions.
● Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. This includes clear diction and the ability to coach and instruct advertisers in the opportunities available for their advertising in our various products and sections.
