Delivery Center Assistant
||The Delivery Center Assistant (DCA) provides delivery or redelivery of products to customers or designated locations dispatched from Customer Care or Home Delivery Operations. All staff will strive to meet customer expectations and special requests (i.e.: tube installation, placement, and product condition). This position represents the Times in the performance of their duties on a daily basis. The DCA will maintain accurate records of customer complaints/requests and provide such documentation to delivery center management. This position directly contributes to the resolution of customer complaints and/or delivery requests by providing feedback to Field Managers. Additional tasks including product verification, delivery list updates, and address searches will be assigned as needed. On a daily basis this position will be assigned tasks that will involve driving a vehicle for business purposes. Delivery Center Assistants must have a valid driver’s license, maintain an acceptable MVR, and provide their own transportation and adequate vehicle insurance for business related driving tasks. Other duties may be assigned as needed such as assistance with delivery center property clean up and/or safety and security checks.
Must be able to safely perform all physical requirements including:
Walking, sitting, standing, stooping, twisting, kneeling and reaching
Pushing and pulling 2 wheel newspaper carts weighing in excess of 200 lbs.
Repeatedly lifting newspaper bundles up to 40 lbs and similar physical movements
Requires local driving as part of the job
