Description This is a part-time position which will average 28 hours per week.  There are openings on 1st shift, second shift, and third shift. Weekend and holiday work required.  First shift hours are primarily between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Second shift hours are primarily between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. Third shift hours are primarily between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

Jogs and stacks newspapers neatly on pallets.  Feeds product into inserting machines.  Follows safety guidelines of the department.  Trained to operate production equipment.  Learns basic machine set up and department reports.  Demonstrate an ability to work cohesively in a team environment.  Demonstrates and adheres to reliability requirements.  Once trained, is knowledgeable in safety requirements and expectations, departmental SOPs (Standard Operating Policies), when operating production equipment, and completing department reports.  Basic mechanical aptitude to set up and perform basic troubleshooting.  Basic reading, writing and math skills to complete departmental reports.  Communication skills for interacting with others and proper radio etiquette using hand held radios.  Position requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.  Ability to repetitively lift newspaper products weighing up to 30 pounds.  In addition, talking, hearing, smelling, near acuity and depth perception are required.  Ability to differentiate between spoils and quality newspaper products required.
