Description Position Top Priorities:
  1. Sell more single copy newspapers market wide.
  2. Maximize single copy revenue.
  3. Manage the results and contracts of the independent contractors in the most effective ways.
Job Responsibilities Sales:
  1. Market tours
  2. Store visits – interactions and relationship building with store management and customers.
  3. Analysis and creating new locations for sales opportunity.
  4. Merchandizing, placement and signage branding.
  5. Communication with ICs on how to strategically move papers to maximize sales.
  6. Participate in the development and implementation of single copy operations, sales plans, and budgets.
  7. Efficient distribution all products distributed by the Times.
  1. Face to face, email, phone call interactions with IC’s (communications with IC).
  2. Collecting, reconciliation and deposits in any open delivery areas.
  3. Customer complaint resolution.
  4. IC payment tracking and follow up.
  5. Contract and addenda management.
  6. Negotiation of contracts with independent contractors, while keeping the department expense budget in mind.
  7. Coordination with Rack Maintenance.
  8. Enforce IC’s agreements with the Times.  Manage the results of the contract.
  1. Draw management:  Forecasting and Determining.
  2. Invoice tracking and processing adjustments.
  3. Department and direct manager meetings and communications.
  4. Report analysis of returns and sales.
  5. Special projects (name change, price changes, promotions, etc).
  6. Prospecting new IC’s.
  7. Audit returns and shrinkage reports.
  8. Managing night operations (internal calls from internal departments).
  9. Company e-mail (sending and responding).
  10. Inputting draws into Syncronex.
  11. Hawker audits.
