Tampa Bay Design Week, Hyde Park Village Art Fair and membership reciprocals

Benefit Swap:

Dalí Membership Reciprocal

For the month of April, members of the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts will get free admission to the Dalí Museum, and vice versa. This is a big deal because the Dalí doesn’t normally extend reciprocal membership privileges with other organizations within a 50-mile radius. But recently they’ve been choosing local organizations to reciprocate with for a limited time. Members of the FMoPA can check out the "Dalí/Duchamp" exhibit for free, and Dalí members can explore the exhibitions at the FMoPA, including Patty Carroll’s "Anonymous Women: Camouflage and Calamity," pictured. You must present your card, and the benefits don’t extend to additional discounts. fmopa.org. thedali.org.

ART-chitecture:
No Vacancy Pop-Up Festival

We’re in the midst of Tampa Bay Design Week, which celebrates design, art and architecture through a number of cool and informative events. One of them is the No Vacancy Pop-Up Festival, which happens Saturday around Ybor City. Teams of local designers, artists, engineers and contractors worked together to transform historic Ybor’s alleyways, storefronts and sidewalks, all in an effort to showcase the spaces’ potential. Look out for artist duo Illsol’s interactive Lucky Cat Shrine and an installation created by USF School of Architecture and Design students built to attract visitors to uninviting spaces. 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Set off at the Center for Architecture and Design (1315 E Seventh Ave.), which will be open to explore. Free. tampabaydesignweek.com.

Tried and True:
Hyde Park Village Art Fair

We’re still in that sweet spot of lovely weather that makes strolling around an outdoor art show so pleasant that you can really take your time. Bask in the weather and the artwork this weekend at the Hyde Park Village Art Fair, when more than 100 artists will line the brick streets. The juried show includes sculptures, paintings, photography, ceramics and glass from national artists. It makes for a wonderful, inspiring afternoon. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 1622 Snow Ave., Tampa. artfestival.com.
