Books for the beach
Suit up: It’s time for a few new books built for vacation reading.
By Invitation Only (William Morrow) by Dorothea Benton Frank is the latest serving of Frank’s trademark warm humor and engaging characters, set around two weddings, one in South Carolina and one in Chicago.
The High Tide Club (St. Martin’s) by Mary Kay Andrews, who grew up in St. Petersburg, is the story of an Atlanta lawyer hired by an eccentric millionaire to protect her barrier island estate and find the long-lost friends of her youth.
When Life Gives You Lululemons (Simon & Schuster) by Lauren Weisberger brings back Emily Charlton, hapless protagonist of The Devil Wears Prada, for new adventures among the rich and famous (although frankly, I’d rather read a reprise about the wicked Miranda Priestly).
