Sarasota Reading Festival canceled The board of directors of the Sarasota Reading Festival announced Tuesday that the event has been canceled, citing difficulties obtaining financial support. Andrew Foley, a board member and co-owner of Sarasota News and Books, said, "It was clear that even with the success we had last year, we didn't have the resources to make it through the summer." The festival, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in November, was a fundraiser for the Jane Bancroft Cook Library at New College and Selby Public Library in Sarasota.
