Events: Author Sebastian Junger to speak at the Straz

The University of South Florida's Frontier Forum Lecture Series presents journalist and filmmaker Sebastian Junger (Tribe: On Homecoming and Belonging) speaking at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 22, followed by a book signing, at the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, 1010 N MacInnes Place, Tampa.

Eckerd College professor William Felice (The Ethics of Interdependence: Global Human Rights and Duties) will discuss his new book with Times book editor Colette Bancroft at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at Fox Hall on the Eckerd campus, 4200 54th Ave. S, St. Petersburg.

Wordier Than Thou and Exquisite Entertainers present the second annual Banned Books Burlesque Show, kicking off National Banned Books Week, at 7 p.m. Sept. 22 at Barley Mow Brewing Company, 518 West Bay Drive, Largo. Tickets $20-$30 at wordierthanthou.com/shop.

Award-winning science fiction author Ben Bova (Apes and Angels) will sign his new book, the conclusion of the Star Quest trilogy, at 2 p.m. Sept. 23 at Books at Park Place, 10468 Roosevelt Blvd., St. Petersburg.

Safety Harbor Public Library will present its Local Author Book Fair, with a meet and greet and signings, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 24 at the library, 101 Second St. N.
