The St. Pete Beach Public Library presents a discussion of Ian Fleming's James Bond book Live and Let Die. About one-third of the novel is set in the St. Petersburg area, which Fleming visited in 1953. The free event is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the library, 365 73rd Ave.

The Clearwater Community Woman's Club presents its 16th annual An Evening With the Author at 7 p.m. Friday at the Clearwater Main Library, 100 N Osceola Ave. The featured speaker is Robert Macomber, whose latest novel, A Different Kind of Honor, won the American Library Association's 2008 Boyd Award for excellence in military fiction.
