The Authors Showcase of the East Lake Community Library presents Charrie Hazard (Falling Into the Sun) discussing her award-winning novel at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 4125 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor.

Environmental writer Bill Belleville (Salvaging the Real Florida: Lost and Found in the State of Dreams) will discuss and sign his book at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Poynter Corner in the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library, University of South Florida St. Petersburg, 140 Seventh Ave. S, St. Petersburg.

Friends of Mirror Lake Library presents its inaugural event, featuring St. Petersburg poet laureate Peter Meinke (Lassing Park) reading from his work at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library, 280 Fifth St. N, St. Petersburg.

Former undercover police officer Bob Delaney and co-author Dave Scheiber (Surviving the Shadows: A Journey of Hope Into Post-Traumatic Stress) will discuss and sign their book at 7 p.m. Thursday at Barnes & Noble St. Petersburg, 2501 Tyrone Blvd.; at 7 p.m. Friday at Barnes & Noble Carrollwood, 11802 N Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa; and at 2 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble Sarasota, 4010 S Tamiami Trail.

Bestselling author Stuart Woods (Son of Stone) will discuss and sign his latest thriller at 5 p.m. Friday at Inkwood Books, 216 S Armenia Ave., Tampa; and at 1 p.m. Saturday at Circle Books, 478 John Ringling Blvd., Sarasota.

Yellow Jacket Press presents its fourth annual Florida Poets Happy Hour and Prime Time Show, celebrating the publication of new chapbooks by Tampa poet laureate James Tokley (The Epic of the Sandwiche Cubano) and St. Petersburg poet laureate Peter Meinke (Lassing Park), with readings by Tokley, Meinke, Erica Dawson, Enid Shomer, Pamela Hill Epps, Gregory Byrd, Cole Bellamy and Kirsten Holt, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hillsborough Community College Ybor Campus, 1304 E 11th Ave., Tampa.
