Gina Greenlee (Postcards From the Road) will discuss and sign her book about women's travel experiences at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Sarasota News & Books, 1341 Main St.

Barbara Birenbaum (Amber's Dachshund Antics) will sign her children's books at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble Clearwater, 23654 U.S. 19 N.

Martha Stewart (Martha Stewart's Cooking School: Lessons and Recipes for the Home Cook) will sign her book at 3 p.m. Saturday at Macy's at Westfield Countryside Mall, 27001 US Highway 19 N, Clearwater.

Events

Book Blitz, a free event for local writers, editors, printers and videographers, takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the Heritage Hotel, 234 Third Ave. N, St. Petersburg. Featured writers include Times copy editor Ian Vasquez (In the Heat), Donna Cutting (The Celebrity Experience), Richard-Merlin Atwater (The Dog With the Automatic Tail), Therese Tappouni (The Promise), Diane Sawyer (The Cinderella Murders) and Debra S. Kleinberger (A Stopped Watch). Proceeds from a raffle and book sale benefit the Florida Literacy Coalition.

A Groundhog Day event featuring author Barbara Birenbaum (Groundhog Willie's Shadow, Groundhog Phil's Message), music and quizzes takes place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Dunedin Library, 223 Douglas Ave.

The Four Seasons Author Series presents novelist and television screenwriter-producer Stephen J. Cannell (On the Grind) as its luncheon speaker at noon Thursday at the University Club, Suite 3800, 1 City Center, Tampa. Tickets are $25, and reservations are required; call (813) 273-3616.

Craftsman House Gallery presents An Intimate Evening of Poetry, Music and Food, featuring a reading by poet Jenny Browne (The Second Reason), music by Lara Cerri and Dan DeGregory, and hors d'oeuvres, at 5 p.m. Saturday at the gallery, 2955 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. Tickets are $8, or $18 with an autographed book.
