Events: Historical novelist Ron Hansen to discuss 'Putting the Story in History'

Lori Roy (Bent Road) will discuss and sign her psychological thriller at 2 p.m. today at Barnes & Noble Clearwater, 23654 U.S. 19 N; and at 7 p.m. Thursday at Inkwood Books, 216 S Armenia Ave., Tampa.

In celebration of National Poetry Month, the University of South Florida Humanities Institute and department of English present poet and USF alumna Suzanne Rhodenbaugh (The Whole Shebang) reading her work at 2 p.m. Monday in the Grace Allen Room of the USF Library; and poet Janet Sylvester (The Mark of Flesh) reading at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Room 3707, Marshall Student Center, USF, 4202 E Fowler Ave., Tampa.

Gulf Beaches Public Library presents former Madeira Beach Elementary principal Sue Kotchman (With Love From Grandma) signing her book at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 200 Municipal Drive, Madeira Beach.

Historical novelist Ron Hansen (Exiles, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) will discuss "Putting the Story in History" at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Saint Leo University's Student Community Center, 33701 State Road 52, St. Leo.

Diane Mott Davidson (Crunch Time) will discuss and sign her mystery novel at 2 p.m. Thursday at Geldbart Auditorium, Selby Public Library, 1331 First St., Sarasota; and at 3 p.m. Saturday at Inkwood Books.

James Harvey (Grayton Beach Affair) will sign his historical thriller at 1 p.m. Saturday at Circle Books, 478 John Ringling Blvd., Sarasota.
