Friends of the Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library present poets Erica Dawson, Debra Gingerich, Peter Meinke and Gianna Russo reading their work, accompanied by jazz by the Michael Ross Duo, at 2 p.m. today at the library, 2902 W Bearss Ave., Tampa.

Victoria Bond and T.R. Simon (Zora and Me) will discuss and sign their prize-winning novel for young readers at 2 p.m. today at Inkwood Books, 216 S Armenia Ave., Tampa.

The Tampa Bay History Center's Florida Conversations presents award-winning St. Petersburg Times environmental reporter Craig Pittman (Manatee Insanity: Inside the War Over Florida's Most Famous Endangered Species) discussing and signing his book at 3 p.m. today at the center, 801 Old Water St., Tampa.

In celebration of National Poetry Month, the University of South Florida Humanities Institute and department of English present Jericho Brown (Please) reading his work at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Room 3707, Marshall Student Center, USF, 4202 E Fowler Ave., Tampa.

Former chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. William Isaac (Senseless Panic: How Washington Failed America) will discuss and sign his book at 5 p.m. Thursday at Geldbart Auditorium, Selby Public Library, 1331 First St., Sarasota.

The University of Tampa's Writers at the University Series presents UT graduate Sean Manning (The Things That Need Doing) in conversation with St. Petersburg Times reporter Piper Castillo about his memoir at 7 p.m. Thursday in Plant Hall Music Room, 401 W Kennedy Blvd., Tampa.

Former St. Petersburg Times art critic Mary Ann Marger (Departure) will discuss and sign her novel set in Nazi Germany at 2 p.m. Friday at Books at Park Place, 3619 49th St. N, St. Petersburg.
