The Cathedral Church of St. Peter's book talk series presents Tampa Bay Times metro columnist John Romano discussing Ball Four by Jim Bouton at noon Tuesday at the cathedral, 140 Fourth St. N, St. Petersburg. Lunch available for $5.

For Teen Read Week, YA author Tammar Stein (Kindred) will discuss her books and writing life at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Safety Harbor Public Library, 101 Second St. N.

East Lake Community Library's Author Showcase will present Jared Sandman (Blackstone) discussing his thriller and fantasy novels at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 4125 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor.

Author and magician James Swain (Dark Magic) will perform and discuss and sign his supernatural thriller at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Tarpon Springs Library, 138 Lemon St.

Paranormal investigator Benjamin Radford (Tracking the Chupacabra: The Vampire Beast in Fact, Fiction and Folklore) will discuss his books and research at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the TECO Room, College of Education, University of South Florida, 4202 E Fowler Ave., Tampa.

The Friends of the Tampa/Hillsborough County Library's Four Seasons Author Series presents Tampa writer Enid Shomer (The Twelve Rooms of the Nile) discussing and signing her novel about Gustave Flaubert and Florence Nightingale at noon Friday at the University Club, 1 City Center, Tampa.
