The University of South Florida creative writing program's spring reading series presents a reception, reading and signing by poet and USF alumna Gianna Russo to mark the publication of her first full-length poetry collection, Moonflower. The event, which also features jazz saxophonist Pamela Epps; St. Petersburg poet laureate Peter Meinke; poets Silvia Curbelo, Phyllis McEwen and Jeff Karon; and actor Sarah Pachelli, is at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Marshall Student Center, 4202 E Fowler Ave., Tampa.
Gelareh Asayesh (Saffron Sky: A Life Between Iran and America) will discuss her memoir about growing up in Iran at 2 p.m. Saturday at the St. Petersburg Main Library, 3745 Ninth Ave. N.
Eliot Shrefer (Hack the SAT) will discuss his book at 2 p.m. Saturday at Countryside Library, 2741 State Road 580, Clearwater.
