The Edgar Awards love Lori Roy. The mystery author, 48, who lives in Tierra Verde, won the 2012 Edgar for best first novel for Bent Road. On Thursday, the Mystery Writers of America announced the Edgar nominations for 2014 — and Roy's second book, Until She Comes Home, is a finalist for best novel. The winners will be named May 1. You can meet Roy next week at the reading series of Eckerd College's Writers in Paradise. (She's an alum of the program.) She'll read from and sign her book at 8 p.m. Jan. 23; information at writersinparadise.eckerd.edu. — Colette Bancroft
