Three new books collect true confessions that will make you laugh — and maybe wince in recognition.

I Lick My Cheese: And Other Real Notes From the Roommate Frontlines (Abrams Image) gathers sticky notes, scrawled napkins and more, like this classic: "You know, that I know that you know that I know that you took it . . . so give it back."

True Mom Confessions: Real Moms Get Real (Berkley) by Romi Lassally draws from the Web site for gritty, witty and poignant disclosures like "I've forgotten what it feels like to be groped by hands that aren't sticky."

Why He Didn't Call You Back: 1,000 Guys Reveal What They Really Thought About You After Your Date (Crown) by Rachel Greenwald offers dating advice; sometimes guys' reasons are good: "My lip snagged on her tongue piercing . . . in my opinion, blood doesn't belong on a first date, even a little bit."
