Fatherly advice

With Father's Day coming up, here are three fun books about daring to be a dad.

Good Talk, Dad: The Birds and the Bees and Other Conversations We Forgot to Have (Grand Central) by Bill Geist and Willie Geist is an entertaining mutual memoir, with lots of photos, by the father-and-son TV personalities.

Papadaddy's Book for New Fathers: Advice to Dads of All Ages (Little, Brown) by Clyde Edgerton, with drawings by Daniel Wallace, is funny and wise parenting advice from the novelist (The Bible Salesman), whose kids range in age from 6 to 30.

Reasons My Kid Is Crying (Three Rivers Press) by Greg Pembroke is a hilarious and reassuring photo book of kids wailing over such unlikely things as "Her popsicle was cold" and "We told him that he looked very handsome."
