Getting graphic

From spoofy graphic novel to movie, from comic fantasy books to graphic novel, from classic fantasy novel to graphic novel — here's one of each.

Cowboys and Aliens (It Books) by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, Fred Van Lente, Andrew Foley and Luciano Lima is a new edition of the 2006 graphic novel that inspired the SF-Western mashup movie, which opens Friday.

The Griff (William Morrow) by Christopher Moore, Ian Corson and Jennyson Rosero is a wacky story about a space alien invasion of Florida and the three young people leading the resistance. Moore is the author of Bite Me and Lamb.

Something Wicked This Way Comes (Hill and Wang) by Ray Bradbury and Ron Wimberly is a graphic version of Bradbury's iconic dark fantasy about a traveling circus that you really don't want to run away with.

Colette Bancroft, Times book editor
