Missing 'Mad Men'
These three books might soothe fans of the AMC series pining for the next season to begin.
The Fashion File: Advice, Tips and Inspiration from the Costume Designer of "Mad Men" (Grand Central) by Janie Bryant with Monica Corcoran Harel is an elegant, richly illustrated book packed with tips on vintage and modern style (plus a chapter on how to dress your guy like Don Draper).
Mad Men: The Illustrated World (Perigee) by Dyna Moe is a fun grownup's activity book with paper dolls, hangover remedies and much more illustrated in '60s advertising style by the designer who created the Mad Men avatars.
Sterling's Gold: Wit & Wisdom of an Ad Man (Lions Gate/Grove Press) by Roger Sterling is, yes, the memoirs of the MM character we've seen on the show, although it's less memoir than memorable aphorisms, like this characteristic gem: "Remember, when God closes a door, he opens a dress."
