Patrick Smith's son to present program about his father

Rick Smith, son of the late Florida author Patrick D. Smith (A Land Remembered), will present a multimedia program about his father at 2 p.m. today at Seminole Community Library at St. Petersburg College, 9200 113th St., Seminole.

Tampa author Tim Dorsey (Tiger Shrimp Tango) will sign his comic crime novel at noon today at Book Bank, 13002 Seminole Blvd. #8 (Piccadilly Square), Largo; and at 2 p.m. at Countryside Library, 2741 State Road 580, Clearwater.

Kim Sheintal (Jews of Sarasota-Manatee) will discuss and sign her book of community history at 6 p.m. Thursday at Bookstore1Sarasota, 1359 Main St., Sarasota.

J.L. Witterick (My Mother's Secret: A Novel Based on a True Holocaust Story) will discuss and sign her debut novel at 7 p.m. Friday at Barnes & Noble Carrollwood, 11802 N Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa.

Journalists Bill DeYoung (Skyway: The True Story of Tampa Bay's Signature Bridge and the Man Who Brought It Down) and Lynn Waddell (Fringe Florida: Travels Among Mud Boggers, Furries, Ufologists, Nudists, and Other Lovers of Unconventional Lifestyles) will sign their books at 3 p.m. Saturday at Haslam's Book Store, 2025 Central Ave., St. Petersburg.
