What is on your nightstand?

I just finished Journals: 1952-2000 by Arthur M. Schlesinger. I'm starting From Yellow Dog Democrats to Red State Republicans by David R. Colburn, and my mom finished up Digging to America by Anne Tyler and has passed it to me.

Now that you've finished Schlesinger's Journals, would you recommend it?

I recommend it to anyone interested in 20th century history. He kept detailed journals, and his sons published them. . . . And I'm looking for recommendations myself. I enjoy mysteries. I'm constantly on the lookout for stories that have interesting, well-developed detectives like Agatha Christie's. Mysteries can be such a great escape.
