'Zoo Story' author Thomas French at Tampa luncheon Sept. 3

Patti Leudeman Chiappa (Sara's Journey) will talk about and sign her Christian fiction novel at noon Wednesday at Inn on the Gulf, 6330 Clark St., Hudson; at 8 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Grounds, 4819 E Busch Blvd., Tampa; and at 1 p.m. Friday at New Harmony Coffee &Tea, 1949 Drew St., Clearwater.

The Friends of the Library of Tampa-Hillsborough County present a Four Seasons Author Series Luncheon featuring Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Thomas French. The former St. Petersburg Times reporter and Poynter Institute fellow will talk about his new book, Zoo Story: Life in the Garden of Captives, a nonfiction look at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo. The luncheon is at noon Sept. 3 at the University Club, 38th Floor, 1 Tampa City Center. Tickets are $30; for reservations, call (813) 273-3616 by Aug. 30.
