Charlie, Brooke want to reconcile
If you read in the gossip sheets that Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller were probably getting a divorce after their latest row, forget all that. Their lawyers said Wednesday that they want to reconcile, despite her accusations that he pinned her down and held a knife to her throat. "They're very much in love," Brooke's attorney, Yale Galanter, told the AP. Sheen's attorney, Richard Cummins, confirms the change of heart, and will be asking a judge to modify a restraining order against his client. Galanter said Brooke is standing by the account she gave police, but he said she didn't understand Chuck would be arrested. "Wives think the cops are going to break something up and they don't realize the husband is going to be taken to jail," Galanter said.
Tiger may be in sex rehab
Today's Tiger Woods rumor: He has entered rehab for sex addiction at an exclusive facility in Arizona. Sure, why not? "He has been there for a few days since his handlers forced him to enter the program," a source tells X17Online.com. "They feel that if he blames his cheating on addiction, the public will forgive him." Forgive him for what? Finding really skanky girls with whom to cheat on wife Elin Nordegren? "Tiger wants to get back on top," the source adds. "He agreed to put golfing on hold so he could show the world how badly he feels about what he's done and to prove that he wants to correct the problems that led to his infidelity."
Sarandon back on market
Susan Sarandon is wasting no time in getting over Tim Robbins. While rumors fly that she's seeing 33-year-old aspiring filmmaker Jonathan Bricklin, spies caught her with somebody else this week at a bakery in New York's West Village. The 63-year-old was seen at Creperie with a "younger-looking fellow" around 2 a.m. Tuesday. "They shared a crepe with Nutella and whipped cream, and stayed and chatted for a while," a source said. How sweet. The source added that it wasn't Bricklin, with whom she is a business partner in Spin, a table tennis club in the city's Flatiron District.
Dirty chief gets jail time
Former Martins Ferry, Ohio, police Chief Barry Carpenter was sentenced to prison after being convicted for his involvement in the break-in at the home of the surrogate mother for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, the AP says. How much are those photos worth to him now? Carpenter, who resigned two weeks ago, must serve two years and eight months in prison. He was convicted last month on charges of receiving stolen property, theft in office and evidence tampering but acquitted of other counts, including burglary. Prosecutors said he broke into Michelle Ross' home in May, took items related to her pregnancy and the surrogacy, and conspired with police Chief Chad Dojack of neighboring Bridgeport to sell the items to celebrity photographers. Dojack is scheduled to go on trial in January on two counts of complicity to burglary and one count of complicity to receiving stolen property.
