Animal shelter could use pavers, more

There is no end to the good works people do to help others. Peggy Ghezzi wrote in once again on behalf of Compassion For All His Creatures, an animal rescue and sanctuary in Brooksville. The shelter is in serious need of pavers for the exterior kennels. Grass does not grow in these areas and pavers are a good solution. If anyone has synthetic grass, that would be an even better choice. The shelter could also use a washer, dryer and small refrigerator to store medications for the animals. If you can help, please call Peggy at (352) 754-9692.

Quite a while back, Gary Hurt of Valrico used REX to give away some coolers and freezer packs. The response was overwhelming, and he got rid of all of them. There were some people who wanted Gary to call them once he had some more, but he misplaced their information and, therefore, couldn't call them. Gary now has four medium-to-small-sized thick-walled coolers and 18 freezer packs looking for a good home. If you would like them, please call Gary at (813) 684-1203.

Ray Weaver, a hospice volunteer in Clearwater, would like to borrow or obtain a Crosley record-cassette-CD player that transfers cassettes onto CDs. If no one has one to donate, he would like to borrow one for a week to turn cassettes into CDs for patients in a nursing home. Ray can be reached at (727) 441-8011.

Pat of Port Richey is very close to getting a work-at-home transcription job, which would be fantastic since she has no car and needs a job very badly. The job requires two things that Pat doesn't have and is looking to find: a "wav" foot pedal made for the Internet and a headset that plugs into the USB port of a PC. She's hoping there are some transcriptionists out there who still have these and no longer need them. Pat can be reached at (727) 264-6649 or via email at shishi.1994@yahoo.com.

Faithful REXer Lucie Somers has always been an avid Titanic fan, and she's always on the hunt for Titanic memorabilia. She wonders if any readers have literature on the Titanic that could be copied. If you can help Lucie, please mail her the copies at 1415 Main St., Lot 219, Dunedin, FL 34698.

A while back, Nancy Foster of Clearwater requested old costume jewelry so she could reconstruct it as part of her jewelrymaking venture. Nancy would like to send out a great big thank-you to all the lovely women who so generously shared their old costume jewelry, orphaned earrings, broken pieces and other jewelrymaking items with her. Nancy is always on the lookout for these items, so if you have any to donate to her, she can be reached at her Clearwater work number, (727) 449-9808.
