This Valentine's Day, think outside the chocolate box and give your loved one something to remember. Here are some creative ideas to show your valentine just how much you care.
Surprise your valentine with a secret message. Use a pencil eraser to write a hidden message on the bathroom mirror a few minutes ahead of time. When your significant other takes a hot shower or bath, the mirror will steam up and the message will appear.
Give something that lasts longer than a bouquet of roses. A number of organizations allow you to name a star or sponsor animals such as chimpanzees for a one-time fee. Donating to a charity that means a lot to your valentine shows that you care not only about them, but also what they care about.
Re-create your first date. You may not be able to do exactly the same things or go to the same place, but with some creative planning you can certainly bring back fond memories and perhaps even some sparks!
Get crafty. Find a pretty, clear glass jar and fill it with 52 small pieces of paper. On each paper write a love note, quote or short poem. Tie a pretty ribbon around the jar lid. Tell your recipient to open one each week. This is a great idea for those in long-distance relationships and can be refilled every year for a Valentine's Day tradition.
