Reader's Exchange: Can you help complete this postcard collection?

Jeanne Canton of Pinellas Park has been collecting postcards since she was a child in the 1930s. Jeanne, who is deaf and has poor vision, enjoys organizing the cards and looking at her collection. She has acquired postcards from almost every state in the nation, with the exception of Delaware and Oklahoma. Jeanne is hoping that someone out there will have postcards from these two states and would be willing to part with them for her collection. Jeanne was inspired to write in by reading faithful REXer Lucie Somers' request for birthdays cards and the overwhelming response she got. Cards can be sent to: Jeanne Canton, Magnolia Gardens ALF, 3800 62nd Ave. N, Apt. 229, Pinellas Park, FL 33781.

Last year, Mary Klein of St. Petersburg wrote in requesting early reading children's books in "like new" condition. Her group creates braille overlays that they place in the books and then donate the books to young blind children. The response she got was so great that the group has donated more than 250 books to students all over Florida. Now the group hopes to get the same response for more children's books, and for early reading books in Spanish as well. The group is putting on a book fair for visually impaired children. If you have books to donate, please call Mary at (727) 418-8887 or email her at vlkrie@aol.com.

Can anyone help Mrs. Zinke of Port Richey re-cover her lamp shade? She has had the lamp for a long time and doesn't want to part with it, but the shade is bell-shaped and she has been having trouble finding someone who will do it. She would like for it to be someone within 15 miles of Port Richey, if possible. She can be reached at (727) 868-7113.

Several weeks ago, Liberty Manor for Veterans requested bicycles, canned goods, toilet paper, paper towels, towels, twin sheets, garbage bags, dish and laundry detergent for resident veterans. The response was great, and Liberty Manor would like to thank everyone who donated. There is always a need for these items as well as donations of services such as grant writers, carpenters and electricians. If you can help, please call Jeff at (813) 352-7856.
