Reader's Exchange: Clean? Empty? Dishwasher magnet needed

It's so great when you find little things that make daily life run more smoothly. Barb of Clearwater found that in a dishwasher magnet. She used to have a problem with her husband emptying the dishwasher before she'd had run it, but then she found a wonderful magnet that reverses the words from "clean" to "empty." Later, when Barb and her husband visited his brother and sister-in-law, she found that they were having the same problem and were trying to solve it with Post-it notes. That wasn't working very well because the notes kept falling off the dishwasher. Barb promised to get them a couple of magnets like theirs. However, when she went to the store where she had bought her magnet, the store had changed. Barb has looked several other places and has not been able to find them. She hopes someone out there can tell her where she might find a magnet like this. She can be reached at (727) 441-8855.

Sherri of Pinellas Park has been commissioned to complete an installation project involving the evolution of toys over the past several decades. She says that current toys are easy to come by, but the toys from the 1960s through the 1990s are not as easy to find. She wonders if anyone in REX land has toys from these decades that they would be willing to donate to her for this project. She will be donating the finished project, so she is trying to get as many of the needed materials donated as possible. Sherri can be reached at (727) 366-9432.

Can anyone help Tom of Homosassa with something to help his wife? She recently had open heart surgery, and while she is recovering she is a little shaky on her feet. Tom is hoping to find a support stool that she could use as she makes her way around. The stool he is looking for measures 12 inches by 16 inches by 34 inches, and has a long chrome handle that measures about 3 1/2 feet. The medical supply store wants too much money for the stool, Tom says, and he hasn't been able to find one at a thrift store. If you can help Tom and his wife, please call (352) 794-6641.
