Reader's Exchange: Cyesis Nursery in need of baby swings, bibs, more

It is always so interesting to learn about all of the wonderful local programs that assist others. The Cyesis Nursery is a part of the Cyesis Program, a nonprofit, voluntary educational program for teenage parents and their children. The nursery, located on the Marchman Technical Education Center campus in New Port Richey, provides care for the children, allowing their mothers to attend class and pursue the completion of their high school education. The nursery needs donations of double strollers, baby swings (battery or hand crank), large over-the-head bibs and gently used baby clothes and baby supplies. If you have any of these items you would like to donate, please call (727) 774-1740 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on school days.

Some people appreciate how technology of the past had a great way of holding up. That is the case for Mark of St. Pete Beach. Although his electric typewriter recently died, he prefers to replace it with either another electric typewriter or a word processor (with or without a monitor), because he believes that either one will last longer than a computer. He is hoping someone out there will have one to donate to him, so that he can continue his search for employment and pursue artistic endeavors. Mark requests that the typewriter be one that he can still find ribbons or cassette ribbons for. He can be reached at (727) 360-2121.

Diana of St. Petersburg has had rheumatoid arthritis since she was 5 years old, which has caused her to be disabled at age 47. She hopes someone out there has a spare mobility scooter, as hers, which she relied on for independence, recently stopped working. Diana says she and her husband have not been able to afford to replace it since he lost his job in October. She has a wheelchair, but because her hands are deformed, she cannot push it herself. If you can help Diana, please call her at (727) 906-3064.
