Reader's Exchange: He'd love to pick up an orange tree

Larry Torgerson of Indian Rocks Beach has used REX in the past to find a fertilizer spreader. He got so many responses, he said he could have opened a fertilizer spreader store! Larry is hoping to have the same luck with his request for an orange tree. Larry says his gave up the ghost, and he would love to replace it. If anyone has an orange tree they no longer want, please call Larry at (727) 593-0150.

Helen Connors of Bushnell is looking to do a true exchange. She is in search of a treadmill. She needs it while she is awaiting knee surgery, as she can no longer take her walks. She's hoping that someone in the Bushnell or Brooksville area has one that they no longer use. Helen says it doesn't need to have all the fancy gadgets. Helen has two items that she would either like to exchange for the treadmill or offer to someone who can use them. She has a hospital bed in good condition for anyone who needs it. Helen also has an electric scooter that needs batteries and a wiring harness. She says it was in good condition until the squirrels got to it and tore up the seat. Helen says if anyone is up to the challenge of fixing it up, they are welcome to it. She can be reached at (352) 568-7597.

Reader's Exchange can inspire people to offer things they have an abundance of, but weren't sure anyone could use. Margaret Burrough of Port Richey saw an offer of empty prescription bottles several weeks ago, and she wrote in saying that she too would like to offer hers. She has more than 100 empty prescription bottles she hopes someone can use. If that person is you, please call Margaret at (727) 848-3083.

Crafting alert! Bobbi of Palm Harbor has yards of Waverly fabric that used to be draperies to give away. She says the material has a medium blue print on an ivory background. She had begun to take them apart and remove the lining, but she ditched that effort and decided to offer the fabric to someone who can use it, perhaps for quilting. Bobbi also has fabric samples that she will include in the offer. If you are interested, please call Bobbi at (727) 698-1953.

Mary Whaley of Pinellas Park is looking for an electric meat slicer, preferably in good condition. Unfortunately, Mary is a lot weaker than she used to be, so having an electric meat slicer would be very helpful. However, she says she would accept a manual one as well. She is willing to pick it up in Pinellas County or Tampa. If you can help Mary, she can be reached at (727) 541-1429.
