Reader's Exchange: If you're a seamstress or a speaker, there are items for you

Lou McDowell of Clearwater had previously written in a request for a 32-inch television, and she got what she wished for! She would like to thank Chris and her husband and daughter who brought it over and set it up and moved her 19-inch TV. Now Lou has some things to give away. She has six Toastmasters magazines for someone who could use them. She also has two things for a professional seamstress while ironing. One is called a Ham for shaping a shoulder when ironing and sewing, and the other is wooden, and shaped similar to an anvil and is used to put a sleeve over to iron the seams. Lou is also looking for an exercise bicycle that has some resistance to strengthen her muscles for a condition she has been diagnosed with. Lou can be reached at (727) 524-1144.

Helen Eklund of New Port Richey also wishes to thank the person who fulfilled her REX wish! Cindy of Palm Harbor let her borrow the Mrs. Beasley doll for her great-grandson's 40th birthday party. Helen says Cindy is so great! Now Helen also has things she would like to donate. She has many home and gardening magazines that she'd like to give to a good home. She also has many, many Mexican petunias that she would like to share with others. She has rooted ones and cuts that will root in days. Helen can be reached at (727) 846-8519 before noon and after 6 p.m.

Jeanne Creech of Safety Harbor wrote in with an update of a request she had placed earlier this year. She was looking for art supplies for a young man who had lost everything in the hurricanes of 2004. The response was overwhelming, and as a result, the young man has been invited by his alma mater to receive a scholarship to earn a master's degree in art. Now Jeanne needs your help again. She has been feeding a stray cat who refuses to come into the house. Jeanne is hoping to find a doghouse the cat might take to, especially with the chilly nights we've been having. If you can help Jeanne, please call her at (727) 804-2434.
