Reader's Exchange: Live Christmas tree is yours for the cutting

Christmas is just days away, and many have had their trees up since Thanksgiving. Others wait to put theirs up. If you are one of those people, you may want to contact Georgia Lee Athey of Odessa. She has a 15-foot live cedar Christmas tree that she needs to get rid of, so she would like to offer it to anyone who would like it. Georgia warns that you have to have high ceilings as it is so tall, and it must be cut down and picked up. If you are interested, please call Georgia at (813) 920-6589.

Each time Marilyn Rhinehart of Dunedin goes to a garage sale or estate sale, she asks about the pins or hooks that you use to make pleats in drapery, because she decided to make some for the long patio windows in her villa. Unfortunately, every time she asks, the people say that they had some but have just thrown them out. Marilyn is hoping that someone in REX land can help her. She needs a four-prong drapery hook that slips up into the tape that makes the pleat, as the ones she made are for a three-folded pleat. Marilyn can be reached at (727) 330-7251.

Can anyone help Joy McGhee help the 12 feral cats she feeds every day? They live in the yard next to her house, and Joy says they really depend on her. Joy is a widow and started feeding the cats so that she would have something to care for. Joy is hoping that someone out there may have extra cat food they don't need and would be willing to give to her. If you do, Joy can be reached at (727) 482-3311. She says that Daisy, Nadia, Nosey, Clone, Patches and the rest of the crew would be most appreciative.

Mary Jo of Palm Harbor wrote in with a very thoughtful request for her daughter-in-law, who she says has been doing a wonderful job helping her husband through his chemotherapy, raising their two children and keeping a job through it all. She is Polish-American and would very much like to perfect her study of the German language. Mary Jo is hoping that someone may have German language tapes, Rosetta Stone or the like, that they would be willing to part with. She can be reached at (727) 785-2868.
