Reader's Exchange: Mah-jongg, tile rummy on wish list

Sage Chaney of Clearwater is a faithful REXer who has used the column to both receive and give things, and she organizes international mah-jongg groups locally. Having shared the fun of mah-jongg with everyone from age 10 to age 80, she has a long list of people who would love to receive a no longer wanted mah-jongg set. Sage says that others have placed tile rummy on their wish list. If you have either one of those games that is collecting dust in the closet, please call Sage at (727) 536-8897.

Bill Armstrong of St. Petersburg has a horse race set he would like to donate to a club or social association. It is not a toy or a commercially manufactured set. The set consists of six two-dimensional horses, about 19 inches high by 20 inches long, that are cut out of plywood and painted with numbers 1 through 6. Included is a straight raceway made up of sewn lanes on very heavy canvas, which measures 7 feet by 12 feet. Bill says that dice are normally used in running the game, and they are not included, but a set of instructions is. He says the game is great for adult social groups, and can be very exciting if used properly. If you are interested, the game must be picked up. Bill can be reached at (727) 381-6301.
