Reader's Exchange: Mikes, DVD players, other audiovisual equipment wanted

Bob Reed lives in a nursing home in St. Petersburg, and he is looking for ways to boost the morale of the residents there. Bob is looking for items they could use at the facility for a public address/audio-video system, such as microphones, microphone stands, amplifier, karaoke equipment, DVD players, CD players and anything that would allow them to have group meetings and activities. Any of these items would be greatly appreciated. Bob says he can't promise that anyone there has the ability to pick up the equipment, so it would be great if it could be dropped off. Bob can be reached on his cellphone at (312) 479-6885.

Susan of Weeki Wachee belongs to a church group that makes and sells greeting cards made out of used greeting cards. Proceeds are for their Pastor's Discretionary Fund, used to help people in need. They are in need of donations of used greeting cards, including the inside verses. Personal signatures and notes can be cut off, but they do need the inside verses. They have plenty of Christmas cards, so they do not need Christmas cards at this time. If you have cards to donate, please call Susan at (352) 596-8271.

Florence of Kenneth City has some items to give away, and she's also looking for a little help. She has a cake mold that was left in a laundry room and has become rusted. She is hoping that someone out there will be able to help her find a way to remove the rust. Florence has a bag full of card fronts of all occasions that she would like to give to a good home. She also has a bag full of children's mismatched socks to donate to someone who could use them. She suggests that they could be used for making rugs. Florence can be reached at (727) 541-3984.
