Reader's Exchange: Quilt patterns, craft items yours for the creating

Calling all crafters! Since time has caught up with Marge of Clearwater and she can no longer sew and craft very easily, she has some items someone else may be able to enjoy. Marge has a Georgia Bonesteel folder of Spinning Spools quilt patterns that have never been used. She also has many quilt pieces already cut out in sizes from 2 inches to 6 inches. Also, there are a lot of odd pieces of broken jewelry and items for craft work. If you are interested in any or all of these items, call Marge at (727) 447-6108.

Lisa and her children want to cool off with some delicious slushies, but she is missing the power cord to her Margarator machine. Lisa says it is the white unit, made by the Nostalgia company. Angie of Tarpon Springs is a fan of Reader's Exchange, and she hopes that some readers can help her sister, Helen, find an item she desperately needs. Helen needs a working sewing machine. She recently bought a lightweight machine that broke in less than a week, and the store wouldn't refund her money. Helen loves to make Greek costumes, so the machine would be put to good use. If you have a dependable sewing machine that you would like to donate to Helen, please call her at (727) 934-4983.

Joseph of New Port Richey has a sentimental attachment to his Toshiba DVD player. It was given to him by his mother a few years ago for his birthday. Since then, his mother has suffered several strokes, leaving her speechless and partly paralyzed. Now the DVD player won't turn on, and Joseph seems to think that it is a problem with the power switch. Because the cost of repairing it is greater than replacing it, Joseph wonders if someone out there would be willing to take a look at it and try to fix it. Joseph says he's having a hard time parting with anything his mother has given him over the years. If you can help Joseph, please call him at (727) 845-3054.

Peggy of Clearwater has a disabled brother whose legs have contracted from frequent rehab and hospital stays. His doctor says that a warm pool is the best exercise for him. Peggy has a pool but cannot get him into it without a pool chair lift. She is hoping that someone out there has one they no longer use and would be willing to donate. If you can help, please call Peggy at (727) 420-2950.
