Reader's Exchange: Seeking a Shark charger, seashells and someone who likes ice skating

Don't you hate it when you go on a cleaning spree and accidentally throw away something important? That's what happened to Donna Stanley of New Port Richey. She inadvertently threw out the charger for a Shark cordless hand vacuum, Model SV75Z N 14. She tried to get another one from the manufacturer, but had no luck. Donna says a 15.6-volt charger may work. If anyone has a charger that will get the job done, please call Donna at (727) 849-0092.

It is always interesting to hear what new project faithful REXer Lucie Somers is working on. Lucie wrote in explaining that she is working on a collage that she is going to "attempt" to make for her grade-school friend, who, like Lucie, just turned 71. The theme of the collage is Florida, so Lucie is looking for real seashells and sand, as well as flamingos, alligators and Florida birds (not real). If you can help Lucie, please mail or drop off these items. The address is 1415 Main St., Lot 219, Dunedin, FL 34698.

Looking to get fit? Luisa of Riverview can help you out. She has a motorized ProForm Crosswalk treadmill that she would like to give to a good home. Luisa says the treadmill is 5 years old, with various speeds, and that it tracks pulse, distance, etc. Anyone interested must pick it up, and Luisa doesn't have to be there (it will be on the front porch). To contact Luisa, please call (813) 677-5985.

The Gulfport Historical Museum has an RCA Victrola from the 1930s that needs repair. The museum would like to play 78 rpm records on it, but the player must be fixed first. If anyone out there can repair it, or knows of someone who can, please call Judy at (727) 343-9614 or Priscilla at (727) 327-8370.

Thank-you

A while back, Margaret Mayer of Clearwater wrote in looking for a printer. She received several calls, and wishes to thank the nice people who responded. She would like to give a special thanks to Bob, who brought a printer to her. Margaret says she thinks Reader's Exchange is great, and that she has helped out with requests whenever she can. She is a true REXer, and is happy to have a printer at last!

Send requests to Reader's Exchange, Floridian, St. Petersburg Times, P.O. Box 1121, St. Petersburg, FL 33731, or e-mail features@sptimes.com. Please put "REX" in the subject line. Requests will be accepted only by mail or e-mail. This is an exchange column, so we will not run items that are for sale. Readers must agree to publication of phone numbers, including area code. Due to the volume of REX requests, it might take several weeks before your item appears in the paper.
