Reader's Exchange: Two people are in the market for mah-jongg sets

Sometimes it happens that different people write in looking for the same thing. Often there is enough of what they're looking for to go around. Hopefully these REXers will both have success!

Terry from Palm Harbor is looking for mah-jongg related items, including sets and old cards, so that she can promote playing the game in a 55 and older community. Terry is also looking for old copies of Legendary Times magazine. Terry can be reached at (727) 787-4279. She is willing to pick up these items.

Helen of Tarpon Springs is also looking for a good used or new mah-jongg set. She can be reached at (727) 938-8073.

Sue Dietz of Largo would like to find something that should be easy to locate: queen-sized fitted sheets. Sue refuses to accept that she would have to buy a new mattress just to be able to find sheets that would fit, as she is having trouble finding some to fit her old, yet perfectly good one. Sue is hoping that someone out there will have some queen-sized sheets they are no longer using, and if they don't fit, she will pass them on to her church community support group for someone in need. Sue can be reached at (941) 276-1473.

It's camping season, and Stephen of St. Petersburg is ready for the great outdoors! To enrich his experience, he is looking for a cast-iron Dutch oven and a cast-iron skillet to use for cooking over the campfire. If you can help Stephen, please call him at home at (727) 525-9841 or on his cellphone at (727) 459-8160.

Carolyn of New Port Richey is looking for a stationary exercise bike for her son. She's hoping someone will have one they are no longer using. Also, Carolyn's great-granddaughter has expressed an interest in getting a small statue of the See-No-Evil, Speak-No-Evil, Hear-No-Evil monkeys. Carolyn is looking for information on where she could find one. She can be reached at (727) 842-8784.

Correction

Oops! Last week Charlotte of Largo wrote in on behalf of a man she knows from church who is a single dad in need of a tandem bicycle so he and his son can get to church and other places. We ran an incorrect phone number. The correct number is (727) 593-5949.

Thank you

Back in March, Darrell of Tampa wrote in looking for ribbons for the "Little Dresses" that her group makes to send to underprivileged children. Darrell wrote back to say that the response was overwhelming; she got calls from everywhere from Seffner to St. Petersburg! She wishes to thank everyone who donated, especially the people at the Gulfport Senior Center who had already made 20 dresses and gave them to her! If you are interested in participating in this group, or would like more information, call Darrell at (215) 341-6994 or email her at [email protected]
