Events: Coolbook author-teacher Giuliano Hazan to discuss, sign book

East Lake Community Library's Author Showcase presents novelist Enid Shomer (The Twelve Rooms of the Nile) discussing and signing her book, recently named one of 2012's best historical novels by NPR, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 4125 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor.

Tampa author Chris Kuzneski (The Death Relic) will discuss and sign his latest thriller at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bookstore1Sarasota, 1359 Main St., Sarasota.

Authentic Florida presents photographer Clyde Butcher, Tampa Bay Times Real Florida columnist Jeff Klinkenberg (Pilgrim in the Land of Alligators) and Gulf Coast Journal host Jack Perkins in "Authentic Florida Meets Real Florida," 10 a.m. Friday at the Girl Scouts Gulf Coast Conference Center, 4740 Cattlemen Road, Sarasota.
