The Dade City Symphony offers an opportunity for adult community members to continue their musical pursuits beyond high school and college. The 30-member volunteer group started formally in March 2011. Skills range from the high school level to professional. Conductor is Jim Urbanski. The symphony provides free concerts to the community. Rehearsals are from 4 to 6 p.m. every other Sunday at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 37623 Magnolia Ave., Dade City. • The City of Tarpon Springs' Cultural and Civic Services Department has finalized plans to create a community band under the direction of internationally known arranger/composer Dan Fox. The repertoire will consist of jazz and dance music from the 1920s and early 1930s. Auditions and rehearsals begin in September.
