5 things to do under $5 in Tampa Bay

Dive-In Movies: Hakuna Matata! You'll be singing and bobbing along to choruses of Circle of Life and Can You Feel the Love Tonight as Lion King plays on the big screen. (Please, no towering pyramids in the pool during I Just Can't Wait to be King.) The film starts 8ish Friday at the St. Pete Beach Aquatic Center, 7701 Boca Ciega Drive, St. Pete Beach. Don't forget your floatie! $3, limited to 150 people. Drinks, snacks and glow jewelry will be sold. (727) 363-9245. (For Flick 'N Float and more family fun, Pages 24-25)

Cow Appreciation Day: First of all, who knew the SPCA had a cow? Nope, not the Chick-fil-A cow suit kind, but a real one named Angie. You can meet and feed Angie and her barnyard friends for free starting at 11 a.m. Saturday at the SPCA Tampa Bay's 10-acre sanctuary at 9099 130th Ave. N, Largo. Her pals include Mo' the donkey, Tabitha the horse, Brian D. Goat and lots of other animals. Aha! The Chick-fil-A cow is also scheduled to make an appearance (we knew he couldn't stay away). (727) 586-3591. www.spcatampabay.org

Tampa Bay Water Ski Show Team: Watch the regional champions twist, turn and ski in pyramids four-people high each week on Tower Lake. This week's theme: Back to Bandstand. Show is 6 p.m. Saturday at 130 Burbank Road, Oldsmar. Free. (727) 586-3591. www.tampawaterski.com.

Dog Training Club Open House: You've seen those superfast dogs running agility on TV and thought, "Yeah right, my dog can do that!" Give it a try at the Dog Training Club of St. Petersburg's Open House, with mini agility runs and a mini obedience class. Representatives from Border Collie Rescue and Aussie Rescue groups will be on hand to talk about available dogs, a photographer is offering $5 photo shoots and vendors will sell dog-related products. All indoors in air conditioning, at 4400 44th St. N, St. Petersburg. Free admission. (727) 527-5568.

Hamlet Launch Party: To party or not to party, that is the question. The St. Petersburg Shakespeare Company has the answer, with live music, fire dancers and a raffle at Paddy Burke's bar, 100 Fourth St. S, St. Petersburg. Free admission, but food and drink is separate. A portion of the bar proceeds benefits St. Pete Shakes. Starts at 5:30 p.m. Friday. (727) 822-9900.
