Nathan Samras can’t resist playing one of the 10 pianos placed around Ybor City as part of an art project. Aspiring piano men and women still have a few more days to make music.

Ybor pianos: It's the last call to tickle the ivories on the colorful pianos that have been dotting Ybor City for the past few months. An art project placed 10 artistically decorated players around the historic district in the hopes of inspiring passersby to play a little night music. After Saturday they'll be gone. If you're interested in owning one, a silent auction is going on through Friday at MC Film Festival at Eighth Avenue and 15th Street in Ybor. Free.

Cirque du Surreal: Subtitled an "Extravaganza of Visual Art, Music, Dance and Spoken Word," this fundraiser for the Gulf Coast Artists' Alliance honors the late Thomas Bruce Reese, whose original Beaux Arts Coffeehouse and Gallery attracted the likes of Jim Morrison, Marilyn Monroe and Jack Kerouac. The gala features art, music, dance, poetry and even the belly dancers from Loud Zoo. Brandy Stark will encourage audience participation with Dada poetry. It's Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. at Beaux Arts, 709 S Missouri Ave. in Clearwater. $5.

Movies in the Park: Maybe dinner will rain from the sky when R.E. Olds Park plays the children's movie Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs at 7 p.m. Friday. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on at 107 Shore Drive W in Oldsmar. Free.

Chili Cookoff: Jim's Harley-Davidson's annual chili cookoff will have a jalapeno-eating contest, tattooing, patch working, drawings and all-you-can-eat chili for $5. It's at the showroom at 2805 54th Ave. N in St. Petersburg on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.

Roc Day: This historic celebration, also known as St. Distaff's Day, marks the day women from Old England restarted their spinning wheels after taking the 12 Days of Christmas off to cook and bake. At Heritage Village, they will have spinning demonstrations by the Pinellas Weavers Guild, vendors selling fiber, spinning equipment and storytelling. It's free (but donations are appreciated) at the park at 11909 125th St. N in Largo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
