Today's tip sheet

5 things to put on your radar today: Hot dancers, a national poet, a YouTube sensation, the end is near for 'Billy' and our deal of the day.

• The Florida Superstars Dancesport Championships are set to step off Thursday morning at 9 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Tampa, 211 North Tampa St. But you can probably see many of the dancers arriving today as they get ready to compete for $85,000 in prizes at this 10th annual competition. Tickets start at just $20 for day sessions and $35 for evening sessions, but we're thinking you can park in the lobby bar and catch the Latin and ballroom dancing hunks and hotties for free today (or for just the cost of a cocktail).

• This week, three top shows are winding down their runs here in Tampa Bay, so if you want to see them, now is the time to secure tickets to Billy Elliot the Musical at the Straz, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom at American Stage and Forbidden Broadway at the Jaeb Theater at the Straz. All close after Sunday's performances.

• Quick, what's Greyson Chance known for? If the name doesn't ring a bell, then maybe you weren't one of 37.5 million people (and counting) who saw the 13-year-old singing Lady Gaga's Paparazzi in a YouTube video. He's at Tampa Theatre tonight at 7 with Miranda Cosgrove, of iCarly fame. (If you're having dinner at the Fly Bar and you hear deafening squeals, don't say we didn't warn you.)

• When's the last time you heard some poetry read out loud? We're guessing not recently (unless you're addicted to that Natalie Merchant CD of kids' poetry, like we are). Tonight, at 6, Barbara Crooker<</b>/a> will read from her current book of poems, More, at the Florida Craftsman House in St. Petersburg, 2955 Central Ave. Who is she? Well, she's well enough known that she has read at the Library of Congress' Poetry at Noon readings. Even though the event is free, space is reserved, so call ahead, (727) 323-2787.

• Today's big deal reminds us of the episode of Andy Griffith where Aunt Bee learns how to fly: You can get 55 percent off an hour's worth of flying lessons from
Thrill Planet. That's a $200 lesson for just $89. We think Aunt Bee would have approved.
