The flashing sign in front of Deja Vu strip club could make commuters on Adamo Drive rubberneck and veer into a ditch.
COMING JULY 3 + 4
THE INFAMOUS LONG ISLAND LOLITA
Remember her? On May 19, 1992, 17-year-old Fisher rang the doorbell of her ex-lover Joey Buttafuoco's home. When his wife, Mary Jo, answered the door, Fisher shot her in the face. Mary Jo survived. Joey, then 36, was convicted of statutory rape. Fisher earned seven years in a New York prison and the nickname Long Island Lolita.
Now 34, Fisher is married with two children. And a porn tape.
This year, Fisher began headlining at nude clubs around the country. She and her new D-cups will swing through Tampa this Fourth of July weekend. (Insert your own "freedom isn't free" joke here.)
Deja Vu general manager Eric "Ice" Terrell heard another club in the franchise had booked Fisher. He asked his patrons if they'd be interested in seeing her perform in Tampa. They said yes, so he contacted the booking agency.
Even Terrell chuckles when he talks about Fisher's upcoming appearance. "I said, 'That may be a good publicity thing to get people in,' and we've been getting calls left and right," Terrell said. He assumes Fisher will be wearing only a smile, because Deja Vu is a nude club. (Tbt* was unable to reach her spokesman.)
Fisher's shows will last 20 to 30 minutes and cost $20. She may also sell private dances if she chooses. For those, Terrell said, "she can charge whatever she wants." If the early buzz is any indication, patrons won't mind shelling out more cash for one-on-one time with the femme fatale. "I've gotten e-mails from people that don't even like strip clubs that are willing to come just to see Amy Fisher," Terrell said. Why? "I don't know."
